An unstable woman bragged about infecting her victims with Hepatitis C after biting several police officers and civilians.

Nicole Ingram, 32, sank her teeth into two officers and headbutted another as well as biting three men, including two of her neighbours.

Ingram was jailed for 23 months after committing ten offences during a two-month campaign of violence and disorder in and around her home city of Dundee.

Fiscal depute Joanne Ritchie told Dundee Sheriff Court that Ingram had more than 30 previous convictions for a variety of offences centred on violence and disorder.

The court heard she was breaching bail curfew terms within two days of being released, when she was found drunk and being unruly in the street on July 26.

Ingram admitted attacking and injuring PC Emma Cowie by biting her head and attacking and injuring PC Scott Birney by biting him on the arm.

“She fell to the ground, acting like a dead weight,” Ritchie said.

“She managed to lodge her feet between railings to prevent police moving her. She was abusive and hostile.

“She began spitting towards police, catching PC Cowie’s face. While in the van she managed to bite PC Birney’s arm, causing a visible bite mark.

“After a prolonged struggle, she was placed in the vehicle.”

Ingram screamed at officers: “You’re all f****d – I’ve got Hep C.”

She was struggling for breath and started foaming at the mouth so she was taken to Ninewells Hospital, where the disorder continued.

Solicitor Billy Watt, defending, said: “She has emotionally unstable personality disorder. There have been periods where things have been quite stable.

“It is when she has to engage with authority figures that things spiral out of control”

“She has had these flare-ups in the past. She has had quite a difficult relationship with her husband, with domestic violence between both of them. She is no longer in that relationship.

“It is when she has to engage with authority figures that things spiral out of control. She is quite aware that abstinence is the way forward.”

Ingram admitted assaulting Adam Shafi in Broughty Ferry on May 10 by dragging him to the ground and biting him to his injury. She admitted racially abusing PC Patrycja Kusiak on the same date.

She admitted attacking Marek Wozniak in Brownhill Street on June 21 by kicking his head and repeatedly biting him on the body to his injury. At the same time she admitted attacking her neighbour Krzysztof Podgorny by grabbing his hair and biting him several times on the body.

Also on June 21, she admitted attacking another neighbour, Regina Podgorna, by punching and kicking her head and body, seizing her hair and pushing her to the ground and injuring her.

Ingram admitted assaulting PC Euan MacLeod in Ann Street on July 5, and injuring him by biting his body. She then went on to admit breaking her curfew on July 26.

While out on that date, she admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing in various locations across the city, including Ninewells Hospital.

She admitted stating she had Hepatitis C while smearing blood across an ambulance bed, on medical equipment, and across a bathroom floor. She struggled with police after threatening them and hospital staff.

In addition to being jailed, Ingram had a further six months supervised release order imposed to protect the public from harm after her release.
