Alan launched 1919 Magazine in 2021 and has since been shortlisted on two occasions for Scottish editor of the year. He provides editorial oversight of the publication and contributes political analysis.

Alan Roden is the co-CEO of Quantum Communications and has worked in and around Scottish politics and the media for more than two decades. He was Scottish political editor of the Daily Mail, secretary of the Scottish Parliamentary Journalists’ Association, and a multiple winner at the Scottish Press Awards. Before joining the Mail, he was a senior reporter at The Edinburgh Evening News. Alan also has extensive campaign experience in politics and was director of communications for Scottish Labour.
